Getting a new puppy is such an exciting time! 

If you're new to owning a puppy or it has been a while since you last had one, it's natural to feel a mix of nervousness and excitement. The prospect of bringing a new furry companion into your life can be both thrilling and daunting. You'll be getting advice coming from family, friends, and even strangers. Amidst all the different suggestions, your priority is to provide the best care for your puppy. That's where my Start Strong Puppy School comes in to guide you through this exciting journey of raising a puppy. Enrolling in my puppy school means embarking on what I consider to be one of the best and most unique learning experience designed specifically for young pups. 

As a positive reinforcement trainer, I take pride in my approach. Each week, I am dedicated to filling my heart with kindness and my pockets with treats to ensure the happiness and welfare of your puppy. I take a wholistic approach to training. One thing I focus on helping you understand things from your puppy's perspective. I'll possibly challenge some ideas that you have regarding our relationships with dogs. It's important to note that my ultimate goal lies in helping you develop a deeper understanding of your puppy's worldview. You will learn more about how they communicate with us and each other. Throughout the course, I will educate you on different aspects of puppy care, from nail trimming to reading the ingredients list on dog food. Additionally, you will begin learning to interpret canine body language and gain valuable insights into your dog's daily communication cues. 

5 WEEKLY CLASSES

Great news! Now, each 4-week puppy course offers five classes. We are all so busy these days, it can be hard to commit to 4 weeks in a row. I'm a single mum, I get it. It's not uncommon for people to miss a week or two. The biggest problem is, money is being wasted and information is being missed. So I've decided every week after classes finish will be left available for a make-up session. Even if only one person misses one class - everyone is invited back for some more puppy fun!!








MAXIMUM OF FOUR PUPPIES IN CLASS

Why are the classes limited to only four puppies? The decision to cap each class at four puppies is crucial for ensuring the best chance of success for all participants. With such a small class size, puppies have a better chance of mastering their impulse control without the distractions of a crowded environment filled with barking companions and without the need for aversive equipment like head halters.
Additionally, the small classes allow for individualised attention and support when needed. Moreover, if time permits and the puppies' sizes and temperaments align, there may also be opportunities for supervised puppy play sessions.

You get lifetime access to over 50 bite-size videos. There's step by step videos of skills taught in class plus a load of other tricks and games to keep your puppy busy.

I'm not going to tell you to wait until class. Behaviours that practiced, get repeated. So wherever you can, it's best to work out the root cause of the issue nip it in the bud ASAP.

My four weekly classes are designed to help you safely socialise your puppy. You will also learn how to deal with common puppy issues like toilet training, biting, chewing and jumping. You will learn how to know if your puppy is enjoying a play session or if they need some space for a moment. I can help with harness advice and fitting. Each week includes an enrichment activity and field trip ideas for places to take your puppy. 

Completing the orientation unit before the first class allows us to get off to a flying start with your puppy. By the end of my puppy course your puppy will respond to their name, willingly swap one item for another and accept gentle handling of paws, ears etc. We will teach your puppy basic foundation skills like sit, down and stay. They will also begin learning how to walk on a loose lead.
